DESCRIPTION:Navaratri & Dasara at Sri Kota Durga Devi Temple\, located in Palakonda of Srikakulam District\, is one of the most revered religious festivals in the region. The ancient temple is dedicated to Sri Kota Durgamma Ammavaru\, a self-manifested (Swayambhu) form of Goddess Durga\, who is worshipped as the guardian deity of the area. The temple is believed to have been the Kuladevata (family deity) of the Savara Rajas dynasty and stands within the remains of an old fort\, from which the deity derives the name “Kota Durgamma.” The temple was renovated in 1947 and remains an important spiritual center. \nFestival Highlights\n\n🌺 Nine-day Navaratri celebrations with special daily Alankarams (decorations) of Goddess Durga.\n🛕 Abhishekam\, Kumkumarchana\, Chandi Homam\, and other special rituals performed throughout the festival.\n🙏 Thousands of devotees from Srikakulam and neighboring districts visit the temple to seek the blessings of the Goddess.\n🎶 Devotional music\, bhajans\, Vedic chanting\, and cultural programs create a vibrant spiritual atmosphere.\n🚩 On Vijayadashami (Dasara)\, the temple witnesses grand celebrations symbolizing the victory of good over evil\, with special pujas and community participation.\n\nReligious Significance\nDevotees believe that worshipping Sri Kota Durgamma Ammavaru during Navaratri brings courage\, prosperity\, good health\, and protection from negative influences.
