A rural sports meet was organised in Srikakulam as part of the seven-day Ratha Saptami celebrations in January 2026. The district administration combined sporting activities with exhibitions, cultural programmes and traditional celebrations. The programme provided rural players and residents with an opportunity to participate in community-level activities. Rural sports meets can identify natural sporting talent among young people who may not have access to professional academies.
