Two first-year engineering students drowned while swimming at Bhavanapadu Beach in Srikakulam district. The students were identified as S. Yeshwanth and G. Agastima, both aged 18. They had reportedly visited the beach with a group of students from a private engineering college. The two students entered the sea for swimming during the visit. A strong current reportedly pulled them away from the shore and into deeper water.

Residents raised concerns about the condition of the recently constructed road between Srimukhalingam and Navatala in Hiramandalam. The road was reportedly completed at a cost of several crores of rupees. Stones and parts of the surface were said to have become loose at several locations. The affected stretch lies between Bhagirathipuram and Mahalakshmipuram.

A 30-year-old worker died after a tractor overturned on the Nadagam-Gonabupeta R&B road near Narasannapeta. The deceased was identified as Sheikh Ibrahim, a resident of West Bengal. He was reportedly among a group of workers involved in special electricity-line work under the RDSS programme. The accident occurred while the tractor was travelling on the road after the workers had completed their duties.

The India Meteorological Department reported increased rain activity across north coastal Andhra Pradesh due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu announced that a proposed airport would be developed at Palasa in Srikakulam district under the UDAN scheme.
